What does it actually cost to start?

Accepted Answer

Nothing. There is no setup fee, no monthly minimum and no contract term on revenue share. In a month where nobody charges at your site we invoice you nothing, because our 10% is taken from completed sessions rather than billed against a subscription.

When do I get paid, and how do I check the figure?

A period closes once and produces a statement: gross revenue, the commission rate applied, and the net payable, broken down by station. The rate is written onto the statement when it closes rather than looked up when you read it — so if we ever change our pricing, it cannot silently restate a month you have already invoiced against.

What happens to a session that arrives late?

It lands in the next period. A closed statement is never reopened, because a figure that changes after you have reconciled it is worse than one that arrives a month later — and you would have no way to tell which version your accountant used.

Will my chargers work, or do I have to buy yours?

Accepted Answer

If it speaks OCPP 1.6-J or OCPP 2.0.1 it connects, whoever built it. We sell no hardware and take no cut of anybody else’s, so we have no reason to push you towards a particular box. Point the charger at our CSMS URL and it appears in your console.

Who sets the tariff?

You do, per station, and you can change it whenever you like. We never set your price and never discount it without asking — a driver’s promotion comes out of our margin, not yours.

How does GST work?

Tariffs on the platform are tax-inclusive, so the price you show a driver already contains 18% GST. Charging is a supply of service, which means tax on a prepayment falls due when the money arrives rather than when the electricity does — so every top-up raises a receipt voucher on the day it lands, and every refund raises a refund voucher. The GSTR-1 Table 11A extract is produced from those vouchers as issued.

What if a driver pays and gets no electricity?

They are refunded automatically. A session that ends with zero energy delivered is a fault, not a sale, and it should never require the driver to notice and complain. It does not count against your revenue either, because it was never revenue.

What is the reliability score, and can it hurt me?

Accepted Answer

It is the share of recent sessions at your station that actually delivered energy, shown to drivers on your listing. It only appears once there are enough sessions to mean something — a new charger reads “too new to rate” rather than 0%, because one bad first session is not evidence. It is the one number we will not let an operator hide, and it is also the reason a good site wins traffic from a bad one nearby.

Do drivers from other networks turn up?

Yes, where we have a roaming agreement. We run both sides of OCPI 2.2.1, so a partner network’s driver can start a charge at your bay and the settlement comes back to us and then to you, on the same statement as everything else. You do not deal with the other network at all.

Question 10

What can I actually do from the console?

Accepted Answer

Start and stop a charge remotely, unlock a connector, reset a charge point, change its availability, read its configuration, and watch the raw OCPP messages when something is wrong. Commands report queued, accepted or refused honestly — including the charger’s own word for why it refused — rather than saying “done” and leaving you to find out at the bay.

Can I put my own brand on it?

Your name, your logo and your colour, on the app a driver opens at your site. Status colours stay ours: a driver crossing three operators in a day has to read “available” identically at each one, and a franchise that could recolour that would be selling its drivers a different meaning for green.

What happens if I want to leave?

Accepted Answer

You point your chargers somewhere else. There is no lock-in period on revenue share, your charge points are yours, and OCPP is a standard rather than a hostage — the same connection that brought them to us will take them away. Your final period closes normally and pays out normally.
