Who we are
The AthenireCharge app and platform are operated by Athenire Pvt. Ltd. For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described here, and you are the Data Principal.
You can reach us at info@athenire.com.
What we collect, and why
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Phone number | To create your account and sign you in with a one-time passcode. |
| Name and email address | When you sign in with Google, to identify your account and to contact you about the service. |
| Location | To show chargers near you and sort them by distance. Only while the app is open — we do not track your location in the background. |
| Vehicle details | The EV you register, so we can show the right connectors and estimate a charge. |
| Wallet balance and transactions | To operate your charging wallet and show your transaction history. |
| Charging session history | To show your past sessions, produce receipts, and refund you when a charge delivers no energy. |
We ask for each of these at the point it is needed rather than all at once on sign-up, and the app works without the optional ones — you can browse chargers without giving us a vehicle, and search a place without granting location.
Who we share it with
Only the processors that make the service work, and only the fields each one needs:
- Razorpay — to take payments and issue refunds. Card and UPI details go to them directly and never reach our servers.
- Supabase — database and authentication.
- Google — maps, place search, and sign-in.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging — to send you notifications about your own charging sessions.
- Roaming partners— when you deliberately start a charge on another network's charger, we send that network the minimum needed to authorise and bill it.
We do not sell personal data to anybody, and we do not share it for advertising. Adverts shown on screens at charging sites are not targeted using your data — they play on a schedule and know nothing about you.
How long we keep it
- Account details, for as long as your account exists.
- Charging sessions and wallet transactions, for as long as tax and accounting law requires us to — which is longer than your account, and is the one category we cannot delete on request.
- Location, not at all. It is used to answer a query and is not stored against your account.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act 2023 you may:
- Ask what we hold about you, and who we have shared it with.
- Correct or complete anything inaccurate. Most of it you can edit yourself in the app.
- Have it erased, except records we are legally required to retain. Deleting your account from the app starts this.
- Withdraw consent at any time, and as easily as you gave it — a permission you granted in a single tap is revoked in a single tap.
- Nominate somebody to exercise these rights if you die or become incapacitated.
- Complain to us first, and to the Data Protection Board of India if we do not resolve it.
Grievance Officer
The DPDP Act requires us to name a person you can hold responsible, not just an inbox. If you have a complaint about how we have handled your data, write to them and they must answer.
[Name to be confirmed]
Grievance Officer, AthenireCharge
info@athenire.com
We acknowledge within 72 hours and respond substantively within 30 days, as the Act requires.
Children
The service is not for anybody under 18, we do not knowingly collect their data, and we do not profile children or send them targeted advertising. If you believe a child has given us data, tell the Grievance Officer and we will delete it.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Payment credentials never touch our servers. Access to production data is limited to the people who operate the platform. No system is perfect, and if a breach affects you we will tell you and the Data Protection Board, as the Act requires.
Changes
When this changes materially we will say so in the app rather than quietly editing the date at the top. The date at the top changes too.
