Terms of Service
Who you are contracting with
AthenireCharge is operated by Athenire Pvt. Ltd. “We” means them; “you” means the person using the app or the operator console.
Your account
- You need to be 18 or older.
- One account per person. The phone number on it is how we identify you, so keep it current — a number you have given up is a number somebody else will eventually be issued.
- You are responsible for charges started from your account. If you think somebody else has access to it, tell us and we will lock it.
Your wallet
- Money you add is held to pay for charging. It is not a deposit, it earns no interest, and we do not lend it out.
- It does not expire. A balance you never spend stays yours.
- You can ask for the unspent balance back. We return it to the source you paid from, less any charge you have already taken and not yet been billed for.
- Tariffs shown in the app include GST. What you see before you start is what you pay.
When a charge fails
This is the clause worth reading. A session that ends having delivered no energy is a fault, not a sale:
- You are refunded automatically. You do not have to notice it, and you do not have to ask.
- If a charge delivers less than it should have, you pay for what the meter recorded and nothing more. Billing follows the meter, not the plan.
- If money left your account and no charge started, it comes back. If it has not within seven days, write to us and we will chase it — a payment stuck between us and the provider is our problem, not yours.
Chargers we do not own
Some chargers on the map belong to other operators, reached over roaming or listed from public data. We say which on the station page. For those:
- The other operator runs the hardware and sets the price. We pass their tariff through and do not mark it up without saying so.
- Where a listing comes from public data rather than a connected network, we cannot tell you whether a bay is free and we do not claim to — the app says so on the listing rather than guessing.
- A dispute about a roaming charge still comes to us. We will not send you to somebody else's support desk.
Using it properly
- Do not tamper with a charger, block a bay you are not charging in, or use somebody else's account.
- Do not scrape, resell, or automate against the platform without asking us. There is an API and we would rather talk about it.
- We can suspend an account that is being used to defraud us or to endanger somebody. We will tell you why.
If you run chargers
- You set your own tariff and can change it whenever you like. We never discount your price without asking; a promotion we run comes out of our margin.
- Our share is stated on the pricing page and written onto each statement when a period closes, so a rate change never restates a period you have already invoiced against.
- A period closes once. A session that reaches us late lands in the next one rather than reopening a closed statement.
- Your reliability score is calculated from real sessions and shown to drivers. You cannot switch it off, and neither can we.
- Either of us can end the arrangement. Your chargers are yours, OCPP is a standard, and your final period closes and pays out normally.
What we do not promise
We do not promise that every charger works, because we do not own most of them. We promise to tell you the truth about which ones do — that is what the reliability score is — and not to bill you for electricity you did not receive.
We do not promise uninterrupted service. Where an outage of ours costs you money, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the preceding three months.
Disputes
Write to info@athenire.com first. Most things are a mistake rather than a disagreement, and get fixed the same week. These terms are governed by the laws of India.
Changes
We will tell you in the app before a material change takes effect, rather than editing this page and relying on you to re-read it.
